The Practice

Our Mission

Buying and selling transactions can become stressful; the Jerry M. Feeney law practice eliminates the stress of these transactions through coordinated handling of all parts of the transaction, while ensuring the client is kept up to date on the status. By utilizing superior credentials, years of experience, and keen business knowledge, we provide the best counsel to clients who are looking to buy or sell what is often the largest investment they will make.

Buying and Selling Real Estate

We represent buyers and sellers of condominiums, cooperatives and houses throughout the metropolitan area. Our geographic practice ranges from Manhattan to Montauk, and north to Rockland County, representing a range of clientele from the most sophisticated repeat buyer of a multi-million dollar residence to a first time homeowner acquiring a studio coop in Queens. We treat every deal with the same level of importance, attention and urgency. Each stage of the transaction is carefully explained, and the client is guided through the process with as much – or as little – detail as requested, depending on the client’s preferences. We have successfully completed over 3,000 real estate transactions, and pride ourselves on making the buying or selling experience smooth, clear, and enjoyable.

Banking

We are an authorized closing attorney for Wells Fargo, its affiliate DE Capital Mortgage, Capital One, Citibank and Bank of America. Focusing on only a few banks differentiates us from the competition by being able to provide an unparalleled attention to detail, along with a thorough understanding of the operational nuances of each institution that can only come with serving a selected banking clientele. Our dedicated bank paralegals have a manageable pipeline of deals rather than being overwhelmed by – and unable to respond to – borrower’s and loan officer‘s inquiries. We arrive on time to closings, and treat each borrower with the respect that should be accorded a valued client of the bank. Our experienced real estate closing team is happy to close at any location requested within our geographic range of Manhattan to Montauk, and north to Rockland County.

1031 Exchange

A 1031 exchange allows investors holding property for business, trade or investment to defer capital gains taxes and accumulate significant wealth by exchanging the property for another “like kind” property. With stringent regulations and many rules to the exchange, no deviations from the “safe harbor” created by the exchange rules are permitted by the IRS.
